Getting started
What is BookLaunchWizard?+
BookLaunchWizard turns a manuscript or an idea into a publish-ready book: paperback interiors, reflowable eBooks, covers, children's storybooks and narrated audiobooks, all from one workspace.
What can I create with BookLaunchWizard?+
Paperback books and eBooks, children's storybooks, front and full wraparound covers, and narrated audiobooks with text to speech. Anything still being finished appears as Coming Soon rather than as something you can start today.
Do I need design experience?+
No. Every project starts from a template or a guided setup, and the layout, sizing, and print maths are handled for you. The detailed editors are there if you want fine control.
Can I try things before subscribing?+
Yes. You can explore the workflow and preview your book before choosing the plan that fits your publishing needs.
Which features require a paid plan?+
Finished exports and professional publishing packages use your plan's output authority. Each plan also includes AI credits refreshed monthly.
Can I use BookLaunchWizard on mobile?+
You can browse, manage projects, and handle your account on a phone. The detailed studios (book layout, cover design, and audiobook production) are built for a larger screen, so we'll suggest continuing on desktop rather than compressing a production tool onto a phone.
Manuscripts & interiors
Can I upload a manuscript I've already written?+
Yes. Upload a DOCX, TXT, Markdown, or RTF file (up to 25 MB) and BookLaunchWizard reads the structure (chapters, headings, and front matter) so you can go straight to design. PDF is an export format rather than an editable upload.
Will my existing formatting be preserved?+
You choose at upload: keep your original formatting as closely as possible, or apply an BookLaunchWizard design for a consistent professional look.
What is the Book Inspector?+
A review pass over your book that flags what's worth fixing before you print or publish: missing front matter, table-of-contents problems, layout issues, and similar. It explains each finding and can apply many fixes for you.
Can I design my book cover?+
Yes. Cover Studio handles front covers and full wraparound covers with spine width calculated for you, using your own images, the media library, or an AI-generated cover concept.
Can I create children's books?+
Yes. The book workspace includes guided paths for children's books, bedtime stories, Bible-story books, and picture-book style projects.
Can I make an audiobook?+
Yes. A finished book can be narrated chapter by chapter using text to speech, and exported as an audiobook package.
Does BookLaunchWizard publish to Amazon KDP for me?+
No. BookLaunchWizard prepares your files and listing details; you still upload and submit through Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, Draft2Digital, or whichever platform you choose. Order a proof copy and review it before publishing widely.
Printing
Does choosing 300 DPI automatically improve my image?+
No. DPI sets the output target; it cannot add detail that was never captured in the original file. If your source image is small, selecting a higher DPI won't sharpen it. Use a larger image or choose a smaller print size.
What happens if my image resolution is too low?+
You'll see a clear warning showing the actual resolution your image supports at the size you chose. You can proceed, but a larger source image or a smaller print size will look noticeably better.
Can I print at home or use a professional printer?+
Either. Print packages contain standard PDF files at exact physical sizes. Print at 100% / Actual Size (never Fit to Page), and check your printer and media support the size.
Exports & files
How do I export my book?+
Open the project and use the Export area. You'll see exactly what will be produced before anything is generated.
Why does an export require a paid plan?+
Designing is free on purpose so you can be sure the result is right. The paid step covers producing the final high-resolution, print-ready files.
Where are my projects saved?+
Everything saves to your account automatically as you work, and your projects are in My Projects (in the left sidebar).
AI & assistance
Does BookLaunchWizard use AI?+
In some places, and always optionally. AI can help draft book text and generate cover concepts. You can build any book entirely by hand without touching an AI feature.
Should I review AI-generated content?+
Yes, always. Treat anything generated as a first draft and check the facts, wording, and tone before you print, publish, or sell it.
Do AI features use credits?+
Yes. Each subscription includes AI credits refreshed monthly. Included credits are used first, and you can buy an optional one-time refill if you need more. Purchased refill credits remain separate and do not reset with the monthly allowance. Every AI action shows its exact cost before it runs; manual editing does not use AI credits.
Account & billing
How do subscriptions work?+
Choose Starter, Creator, or Pro for publishing tools, plan-level outputs, and an included monthly AI-credit allowance. All plans are billed monthly, and you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel from your Billing page at any time. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
What are AI Credits?+
AI Credits are only used when you choose an AI-powered feature. Normal designing, editing and previewing do not use AI Credits.
Do I receive AI credits every month?+
Yes. Starter includes 500, Creator includes 1,500, and Pro includes 4,000 AI credits refreshed monthly while the subscription remains eligible.
Which Text to Speech voices are included with each plan?+
Starter includes 4 curated BookLaunchWizard voices and 1 saved voice clone. Creator includes the full BookLaunchWizard voice library and up to 3 saved clones. Pro includes the full voice library and up to 5 saved clones.
Does Text to Speech use AI credits?+
Text to Speech and voice-cloning screens show the applicable plan access separately from AI-credit balances. Any metered AI action in BookLaunchWizard shows its credit cost before it runs; plan upgrades themselves do not spend AI credits.
Do unused monthly credits roll over?+
No. Included monthly credits reset at the next allowance period. Use them before the reset date.
What happens to purchased extra credits?+
Extra credits purchased as a refill remain separate from your monthly allowance. They do not reset at renewal and remain available if you cancel your subscription.
Can I buy more AI credits?+
Yes. Optional one-time refills are available from Pricing and Billing. BookLaunchWizard does not automatically buy a refill for you.
Is a one-time purchase a subscription?+
No. A one-time purchase pays only for the selected output for that project.
Can I upgrade my plan?+
Yes. Open Billing and choose Upgrade. An upgrade takes effect immediately, and the price difference is handled by Stripe.
Can I downgrade my plan?+
Yes. Open Billing and choose Downgrade. The lower plan and allowance apply at your next renewal; purchased extra credits are not removed.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Open Billing and choose Cancel plan. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
What happens when I cancel?+
You keep plan access through the paid period. No new included allowance is granted after the subscription becomes inactive, while purchased extra credits remain available.
Do you store my card details?+
No. Payments and card management are handled securely by Stripe. BookLaunchWizard never sees or stores your full card number.
What payment methods are available?+
Depending on your device and Stripe settings, options may include card, Link, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Availability is controlled by Stripe and your browser or device.
Can I get a refund?+
Subscriptions, AI services, credit refills, and delivered digital files are generally non-refundable once charged or delivered, subject to applicable law. Contact Support about duplicate or erroneous billing; see the Refund Policy for details.
Support, security & privacy
How can I get help?+
Ask Sarah, our AI support assistant, for a quick answer, or submit a support request. Replies from the BookLaunchWizard team appear in My Support Requests in your account.
What should I include when reporting a problem?+
The project name and type, what you were trying to do, what happened instead, and your browser or device. A screenshot helps a lot.
Is my content private?+
Your projects are tied to your account and aren't made public simply because you upload or create them. Please avoid highly sensitive personal, medical, legal, or confidential third-party information unless you have the right to use it.
Is BookLaunchWizard SOC 2 compliant?+
We are not currently SOC 2 certified. We do follow practical security measures such as payment processing through Stripe, secure managed authentication, and careful handling of your content. Enterprise security documentation can be added as the product matures.
Is BookLaunchWizard HIPAA compliant?+
No. BookLaunchWizard is not designed for protected health information or medical records. Please do not upload HIPAA-regulated health information.
Are image searches optional?+
Yes. Image search only runs when you type a term and click Search, and those images are never used for AI generation or training.
